Tia has long brown hair with bangs that usually cover her eyebrows. She's styled her hair this way for years now since she thinks it suits her face. Her hair is usually straightened and down, but when she's at work, she pulls it up in a bun to keep it out of her face. She also pins her bangs back to keep it out of her eyes when she's working on animals.
Usually, she loves to wear dresses and skirts, so whenever she's not working, she'll go around wearing just that. She loves to feel like she is pretty, so dressing up makes her feel as such. She'll also usually wear heels to make her just a bit taller. She's a very fashionable woman and loves to show it.
Tia is very intelligent, which is obviously very important when it comes to being a vet. Even so, she was always bad at procrastinating and waiting forever to get anything done. She doesn't just procrastinate with any work she has to get done; she'll procrastinate just about anything. She's very compassionate towards those she cares about, always loving them more than anything else. She's also a charismatic and social individual. Tia loves just getting to know new people and getting to know them. She'll talk to just about anyone. She can also be very dependent on others. She does know how to take care of herself and live on her own, but she always wants others to help her out and give her a helping hand. She's also rather self-conscious and has been since she was a teenager. It used to be a major problem when she was very young, but it's not so much anymore. Sometimes she still does pick out all the parts of herself that she hates and thinks are ugly, but she's grown to know that it's just her mind and it cannot possibly true.
Tia is usually very calm and happy most of the time. She's rarely ever seen in a mad or depressed mood. When she is mad though, she loses all rational thoughts and just starts yelling. She can end up being very hostile, much like most people. She doesn't go around throwing or hitting things, but she does seem pretty threatening when she is mad. She's also very moody and unstable when she's sad about something, but she will usually try to hide it from others by acting like she's not. She's learned over the years how to pretend to be happy.
Tia Singh was born in Seattle, Washington to a couple who had only been dating for a few months. She was a complete accident, but her parents still decided to keep her. They got married a year after Tia's birth and then had a son a year after their marriage. The small family continued living in the large city until Tia's mother decided it would be best to move somewhere else. They looked around for different places to live until they found Miduna Beach. Tia was ten years old when her family moved, and she hated leaving Seattle to go somewhere new away from her friends. Her brother didn't seem to mind too much, and thought it would be cool. Their new home was a small house in a little neighborhood in Miduna. Tia was at first always grumpy and would sit on the front porch glaring at the neighborhood as people went back and forth. Some of the neighbors in the small family-centered community thought she was a nightmare of a child based on her grumpy behavior. However, as time went on, Tia started to like Miduna Beach a bit more than she thought she ever would.
Although she still missed her friends in Seattle, Tia tried to start making new friends. She started making a few friends at her elementary school and her next door neighbors. Soon enough, she started socializing with just about anyone she met. She would have little sleepovers at her house, which completely annoyed her brother to always be surrounded by annoying girls, but her brother's bad attitude didn't bother her at all. Plus, it was funny to watch him freak out about cooties.
When high school started, Tia still socialized with just about anyone. She joined her school's cheer squad and absolutely loved it. Her friends would always tell her how she was a natural at cheerleading and she was the best on the squad. She would always just roll her eyes at them and say they were completely wrong. She wasn't like the other girls on the squad who were mostly blue eyed and blonde with pretty white skin. She was stuck with her brown skin and boring brown eyes. Plus, she always felt like she was the least important member of the squad since they would give her the boring parts of routines. She could easily do backflips and cartwheels, but they would never let her do one in the routine, and instead she had to stick with the other cheer parts. Still, it was her goal to one day be more important than the other girls on the squad.
In high school, her parents never really wanted her to date anyone since they thought she was too young for that. She ignored their wishes and dated a few guys, but it was never anything serious. They always seemed to date her just because they thought she was a bit of a challenge. Plus, they always described her as the 'pretty exotic cheerleader' and they all wanted to only hook-up with her. She quickly grew tired of this attitude and completely stopped dating in high school. There wasn't a point to it, in her opinion. Even though Tia was definitely attractive, she never really thought she was based mostly on the other girls in the school. Someone could have come up to her and told her she was the most beautiful person in the world, and she wouldn't have believed them in the slightest. She was just completely self-conscious of herself. She would still be the happy, preppy cheerleader in school who would talk to anyone and everyone, but at home all she would do was pick out parts of her body that she absolutely hated. None of her friends knew just how much she hated her looks because Tia tried to keep it hidden. She didn't want anyone feeling sorry for her.
Her senior year of high school, Tia was almost going to be one of the captains for the cheer squad. A bunch of the girls told her that they were planning on voting for her and making her the captain, but in the end, she didn't even get co-captain. She felt completely saddened by this and didn't understand how it happened. Even so, the captain of the squad was her best friend and things started to change for the better. Tia started getting a more important role in their routines and cheers, which was she had always wanted. Her last year of high school was amazing in her opinion and she loved it. Everyone also kept telling her all about how she was going to end up achieving amazing goals in her life and how they expected the best from her. She didn't think that she really would, but she listened to them and hoped that maybe it would be possible.
After graduating MBHS, Tia began to attend the Barfield Institute of Science and Technology. While attending the institute, she began dating again when she was twenty after she met a man named Tyler Castellano, who was only a year older than her. He was really sweet and loving to her, and she did truly love him too. He made her feel like she was important and not just some ugly girl who used to be a cheerleader. After dating for two years, he proposed to her and they got married a few months after when she was twenty-two. It was also right after her graduating from BIST.
Since Tia planned on being a veterinarian, she had to attend vet school. The closest one to her was Lebeaux University of Veterinary Medicine. She and Tyler moved to Lebeaux so she could attend school there and not have to worry about a long drive to and fro. Her new life with Tyler was happy for the first few months and she loved being around him. However, his attitude started to change and he soon became over-controlling. He would always want to know exactly where she was and who she was with and what she was doing. It didn't matter if she was just leaving to go get groceries, she had to call him every few minutes to let him know how she was at the moment. She would come home and he would start to yell at her for no reason other than he felt like it. She put up with it for a while, thinking there were just some bad things going on in his life since he couldn't find a good, steady job. Soon enough, he began to blame her for his lack of finding a job. He wanted her to drop out of school and get a full-time job instead of just a part-time one as a secretary at the local animal clinic, but Tia said she couldn't do that. He would just get mad at her for saying that, and would keep telling her all the time how she needed to drop out. At one point, Tia seriously considered it, but then decided against it, thinking that after she graduated she could get a good job to help support them both.
At times, Tyler would be calm and nice again, especially whenever he would found a nice job. However, his mood would suddenly change at the slightest of irritations. Tia started to feel worried for her own well-being, but decided it couldn't be too bad. She loved him and he loved her, so he would never hurt her. During her last semester of school at LUVM, she became pregnant with their child. She was hoping this would solve their problems and make them happy again, and it did at first. He would always come home happy and loving. They bought a house in Lebeaux and started fixing up a nursery. They painted it a pretty yellow and started fixing things up. They decided they wanted to keep the sex of the baby a surprise, so they never knew whether it was to be a boy or a girl. After graduating LUVM, Tia started applying for jobs in Lebeaux. However, as soon as she thought things would be great again, Tyler started to become angry and impatient again, blaming her for all of the debt they were currently in because of her going to veterinary school. She lost her own temper and started fighting back with him. One night, he completely lost his temper and started shoving her, hurting her physically for the first time. A few days later, Tia finally decided to go to the doctor and she found out she had lost her baby. She didn't tell anyone how she did since she didn't want any annoying rumors going around.
Finally, Tia decided to get Tyler out of her life. She hadn't yet been hired anywhere in Lebeaux, so she decided to get out of the city. She moved back to Miduna Beach and got her own little house. She started filing for a divorce and was finally able to no longer be married to Tyler and quickly changed her surname back to Singh. She no longer wanted anything to do with him. She wanted to start new in Miduna and new she could do it. She applied for a job at Miduna Pet Care Clinic and was luckily hired. She still lives on her own and loves it. She loves her job as a vet and is even okay with all of her current debt since she's able to do something she loves everyday. Tia also hasn't dated anyone since her divorce and doesn't know if she ever will. She does still want children of her own, so she is planning on maybe one day getting married again. Or, just going to a sperm clinic to get pregnant that way.
Tia's parents were always very important in her life. She does still love and care about them more than anything else. Since they still live in Miduna Beach, Tia will often visit them just to let them know how things are in her life. She hasn't told them about why she and Tyler got a divorce, only that things weren't going well between them ever since they lost their child. Her parents suspect that there's more she's not telling, but they're not going to harass her about it and they're just waiting for her to tell them.
Tia's younger brother Troy was always important in her life. She still talks to him a lot to see how he's doing. She does love him, even if she picks on him way too often. She says it's her job as his older sister to make fun of him for all of eternity.
